Blackstone Chicken Teriyaki is an easy to meal to make any day of the week. We love using our Blackstone for many different recipes, but cooking this teriyaki chicken is one of our favorites.

How to Cook Teriyaki Chicken on Blackstone Griddle

  • Step 1 – Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).  Spread the avocado oil onto the grill and use a spatula to spread it around.

  • Step 2 – Place the chicken on the grill on top of the oil.  Season it with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until the chicken chunks is almost cooked through.

  • Step 3 – In a separate bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients.  Pour this on top of the chicken on the blackston.

  • Step 4 – Toss to coat the chicken with the sauce mixture on the flat top grill.   Then cook for 2-3 more minutes until the chicken is browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 165 degrees F).

  • Step 5 – Remove the chicken, let sit for 5 minutes.  Then serve topped with the sesame seed and diced green onions.  Enjoy! 

Recipe Tips

  • Meat Thermometer – We use an instant-read meat thermometer to make sure that the chicken is cooked to a safe temperature.  
  • Add Vegetables – Make Teriyaki Chicken with chicken and veggies such as mushrooms, red bell pepper and yellow bell pepper. We love to squeeze lime juice after cooking the teriyaki chicken.
  • Add Seasoning – If you like it spicy, add in about a teaspoon of red peppers.
  • Chicken – We used chicken breast, but you can easily use chicken thighs.

How to Make Teriyaki Chicken on Stovetop

You can easily making this Teriyaki Chicken on your Stovetop if you prefer. This is the perfect way to cook it if you don’t have Blackstone. You can also make it on an indoor griddle or a cast iron skillet.

Make this Teriyaki chicken in your crock pot or instant pot.

  • In a large skillet, add cooking oil to the pan.
  • Over medium heat, cook the chicken. Make sure to use a meat thermometer your chicken is done before mixing with the sauce.
  • Combine the Teriyaki Sauce ingredients and add to the cooked chicken in the skillet.
  • Coat chicken in sauce and cook until thoroughly heated. This will take about 5 minutes.
  • Let Teriyaki Chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

  • White Rice– This is our favorite side dish with this chicken. The delicious sauce is so good spooned over the rice. I freeze rice and it is such a time saver during busy weeks.
  • Mashed potatoes– Teriyaki chicken and mashed potato goes great together and makes a delicious side.
