Blackstone Hibachi Steak and Shrimp Recipe:

Make this restaurant quality Hibachi Steak and Shrimp at home on your griddle. The shrimp is cooked tender and the diced steak is juicy and flavorful. This combination is one of my favorites to get at Japanese Steakhouse Restaurants.

This recipe is easy to prepare and cooks fast on the griddle. Toss the shrimp and steak in a delicious sauce to create and delicious weeknight meal. Try any of our Blackstone shrimp recipes or my favorite Blackstone Garlic Butter Shrimp.

What Seasoning do they use for Hibachi?

The main seasoning when they cook hibachi foods is garlic. They will also add in soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds and ginger. This mixture combined and then poured over the meats and vegetables make for a flavor dish.

Ingredients needed - Steak, shrimp, sesame oil, vegetable oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, salt and pepper, butter

Ingredients: 

  • Sirloin Steak (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • Shrimp (peeled, deveined and tails removed) 
  • Sesame Oil
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Soy Sauce
  • Hoisin Sauce
  • Minced Garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter

How to Make Hibachi Steak and Shrimp on Blackstone Griddle: 

  • Step 1 – Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).
  • Step 2 – Drizzle the vegetable oil and sesame oil onto the grill. Then place the steak on the grill, season it with salt and pepper. Then sauté the steak for approximately 4-5 minutes per side until the steak is cooked to your preference.

  • Step 3 – Add the shrimp to the Blackstone grill and sauté it for 1-2 minutes until pink and no longer opaque.  Toss the steak and shrimp together.

  • Step 4 – Top the steak and shrimp with the minced garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and butter.

  • Step 5 – Coat the steak and shrimp in the mixture and cook for approximately 1 minute.

  • Step 6 – Remove the steak and shrimp from the Blackstone grill. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes and then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!

What type of oil to use on Blackstone?

You can use any oil with a high smoke point for this recipe. Vegetable Oil, Coconut Oil or Canola oil can all be used instead of the avocado oil in this recipe.

How to Cook on a Skillet:

If you prefer, you can make this Hibachi steak and shrimp on the stove top. We recommend cooking the steak and shrimp in a cast iron skillet.

Heat the skillet and add in butter then cook steak and shrimp. Toss with the sauce and serve over Blackstone Chicken Fried Rice Recipe for a delicious meal idea.

Tips for Steak and Shrimp Hibachi:

  • Steak Variation – I used sirloin steak in this recipe but you can also use diced flank steak or round steak for this recipe.
  • Cooking – Cooking the steak and shrimp doesn’t take long, make sure to stand close by so the ingredients do not overcook.

    I don’t have a Blackstone grill. Can I make all of these “Blackstone” recipes in a 12 inch cast iron skillet ? Or an electric griddle? Or a cast iron stove top griddle?
