Blackstone Sirloin Steak Recipe:
We eat a lot of steak at my house. When my growing boys want something to get them prepared for the big game, they want a steak. The great thing about the Blackstone Griddle, it cooks the steaks fast and they turn out perfect every time.
When we recently purchased a Blackstone, we started cooking our steaks on the the flat top griddle, and the steaks came out with crispy edges and juicy on the inside. Cooking on the Blackstone, it maintains the perfect heat while we are cooking.
Easy seasoning is added to this steak for amazing flavor, but you can also try our Steak Rub.
Can you Sear on a Blackstone?
Yes, the Blackstone allows you to get the perfect sear on your sirloin steak. Cooking on the flat top on high heat allows you to reverse sear your steak to lock in the moisture. This prevents the steak from drying out.
We love the large cooking surface which maintains the heat over the entire flat top. Which allows you to cook multiple things at once.
Ingredients:
- Sirloin Steaks
- Kosher Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Oil
- Butter
How to Cook Sirloin Steak on the Blackstone Griddle:
- Preheat the Blackstone griddle over medium high heat (approximately 500 degrees F). You want the griddle grill to be hot to get a good sear on the steaks.
- Make sure that the steaks are dry and are at room temperature. Combine the garlic powder, salt and pepper together in a small bowl. Then season the steaks with the seasoning mixture (approximately ½ per steak).
- Spread the oil out onto the Blackstone grill.
- Once the oil is hot, place the steaks on the Blackstone grill on top of the oil. Let them cook for 2-3 minutes and do not move them to get a good sear on the steaks.
- Then use tongs to gently lift and flip the steak. If the steaks are still sticking to the grill, this means that they need more time and they are not ready to flip yet.
- Flip the steaks onto a separate section of the grill. Then cook the steaks for 2-3 more minutes to sear the opposite side of the steaks.
- Then reduce the temperature on the Blackstone grill to medium heat. Cook the steak until they are done to your preference. Use an instant read meat thermometer to check the steak temperature. The recipe notes has the internal temperature for each steak preference.
- Then top each steak with approximately ½ Tbsp of butter and let the butter melt into the steak. We like seasoning the steak with salt and pepper.
- Let the steak rest for 5 minutes and then it’s ready to serve warm and then enjoy!
How to Long to Cook a Sirloin Steak on Blackstone:

- Caramelized Onions – Grilled onions are great on burgers but they are a must when grilling these cuts of steaks.
- Sauteed Mushrooms – Most of my family loves mushrooms, and they are perfect topped with this Blackstone Steak.
- Butter and Garlic Sauce – If add butter to your steak, mix in some garlic for an amazing flavor.
How to know when Steak is done:
The best way to test for doneness is by inserting an instant read thermometer into the thickest part of the steak. Do this through the side, not the top of the steak.
